In support of Like Mandarine's release YA Highway is asking:
Back in high school I would have picked the pretty perfect people. You know the ones, the ones who always had a hot boyfriend. They were beautiful, smart, their parents bought them cars, they never worked. Ugh.
Now thanks to facebook, 15 years later I can check up on them. Second marriages, botox and many extra pounds, I wouldn't trade my life for theirs any day.
Now that I'm older, I want to be like HOLLY DOSON---you know she's pretty awesome. I have insider info on her, she's my hero. YOu know when you think, "gee, I've got my stuff together." But then Holly tells me a little a bit about her life and I think DAMN, now SHE has her shit to-geth-ER.
In other news, my daughter had her surgery today. It went smoothly but there was a lot of crying on her part, afterwards. Right now she's watching her 4th episode of My Little Pony and playing with her new My Little Pony toys.
Zoey 2.0 is still downloading, but I'm expecting the download to be complete by tomorrow.
Don't forget to sign up for my LIFE IS AWESOME contest.
Awwwwww!!! You are the awesomest awesomesauce of awesomacy!!! (That's a lot of made-up words I needed to reflect just how great you are!) Thank you. <3 You made my day.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your daughter's doing well.
ReplyDeleteI admitted to wanting to be a cheerleader in middle school...ugh. So glad I grew up.
Aww such a sweet post! I am so glad Zoey is doing okay!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. Thank God for FB. It reminds me of one of my fave lines from Almost Famous, when Lester Bangs says, "You'll meet them all again on their long journey to the middle."
ReplyDeleteHope you and your little one are doing okay.
Aww, how sweet! You're right--Holly rawks!! :) And I hope your daughter is doing well.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your daughter's surgery went well!
ReplyDeleteHi--Stopping by from RTW. I'm glad I'm reading posts written by people who were a lot like me--not popular cheerleader types. I suppose those types have blogs too, but I don't think many of that type are aspiring writers.
ReplyDeleteSo the people who were all thin and popular in my HS class? Not fat. I don't think that's fair at all. (Though at least one is in jail.)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I loved your facebook comment - because it's SO TRUE!!! I look back at people I thought had it ALL going for them - that pedestal crashed quickly.
ReplyDeletethis is sweet.
ReplyDeleteAnd My Little Pony totally made my life as a kid :)
Hope your daughter has a quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteyay for zoey! hope she's well soon! :)
