Gone but Not Forgotten Blogfest!

Today we will focus on the TV Shows that have left our airwaves but left an impact on us.

Lost
Surviving a plane crash, polar bears and smoke monster, the LOSTIES were able to keep me entertained for  6 seasons.  They even were able to introduce new characters- like a BILLION  new ones, on a deserted island!  Did it have a few super weak episodes?  Yep. Did it have a few MIND BLOWING Awesome episodes? Yep.  Was it character driven? Yep?    Do I miss it?   Yep.  Am I glad to have an extra hour back in my life every week?  Hell Yeah!

Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse. (I'm clumping them all together.)

Oh Joss, you genius was underrated.  Your female leads were smart, emotional, strong and all around made out win.   You always had a geeky adorable male sidekick.  Your villains scared the crap out of me.

The West Wing.
If only really life politics were this interesting and inspiring.  The West Wing made me care about city that's a few miles away.  Although as soon as it was off the air, I instantly stopped caring.  It had possibly the single greatest moment ever in TV history.  Josh Lyman was shot by a stray bullet intended for the president.  Toby tells Donna, Josh's assistant and one true love, "Josh was hit." The moment she fully understands is possibly the most heartbreaking moment.

You Can't Do That on Television
Locker Jokes, a kid run talk show, green slime if you said "I Don't Know."  Water dropped on you if you said, "Water."  It was Canadian. It was perfect.

Best Week Ever
Sigh, VH1 every once and a while you come up with good programming and then you break my heart.  It was funny, informative, and I didn't feel dirty like when I watch Entertainment Tonight for my news.

  1. I love blogfests, thanks for linking me to that one for next week. Will go and check it out, even though my blogfest calendar for March is already ridiculously chock-a-block :D

Anyway...I don't know all your shows, but I totally agree on Joss Whedon in general. Love his stuff! The most sad is Firefly because it never got fully off the ground, but is so amazingly awesome!

  20. Wow - love to see that Joss is everywhere!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BtVS. Probably my all-time favorite show. That and Angel are the only tv shows I own on DVD (so far...). I'd add Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, and Stargate to the list. :) New follower - great blogfest idea. So glad I came across it!
